Missouri State opens at Texas A&M on Sept. 5 at Kyle Field, with ESPN listed as the television outlet. The Bears enter their first season as a Conference USA FBS program with returning production at 31 percent of their 2025 total PPA. Their available quarterback picture includes Henry Belin IV, Skyler Locklear, Eian Finkley, Elijah Leonard and Brett Ottensmeyer, while Jmariyae Robinson returns after posting 44 catches for 632 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025. Ramone Green Jr. also remains on the roster after contributing as both a runner and receiver last season.
Texas A&M brings back several established pieces from 2025, including Marcel Reed, who produced 3,169 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 493 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Mario Craver returns after 58 catches for 911 yards, and Reed identified Craver, Ashton Bethel-Roman, Terry Bussey and Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton as receiving assets at SEC Kickoff. Up front, center Mark Nabou Jr. is the lone returning 2025 starter, though Mike Elko said the Aggies added four portal linemen with SEC starting experience. On defense, DJ Hicks returns as the proven anchor after recording 26 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
Important Week 1 details remain unsettled. Neither team’s roster establishes an opening-day quarterback or final snap order, and Texas A&M’s rebuilt offensive line still must turn competition into cohesion. Missouri State has added Dylan Brooks, Witt Edwards and Isaiah Villanueva through the portal, but roster inclusion does not define roles. Daymion Sanford’s diagnosis and return timetable also remain unresolved after he left the spring game with a lower-left-leg injury.
