Syracuse controls the afternoon by keeping Angeli clean, staying ahead of the sticks and making New Hampshire’s unannounced quarterback work through long third downs inside the Dome. The Orange do not need to force the issue vertically; a steady run game and manageable throws would let their defensive front attack obvious passing situations. New Hampshire’s path is narrower but straightforward: avoid negative plays, protect the ball and turn field position into pressure on an offense reintegrating its quarterback. If the Wildcats can prevent explosives, extend drives on third down and create an extra possession, they can keep the game from becoming a comfortable Syracuse script.
